Hole hand grenade

Hello,
Here is one of my first models and the first where I have had to make a sphere.
I know its not upto the quality of most models here but I learned a lot from this small project.
If anyone can give any tips on how to make a good sphere please let me know.
All the best

Believe it or not you picked a relatively difficult first project and you did a good job on getting the sphere correct. Any thing with compound curves is difficult to do in paper.

the only suggestion I could make is take a small curved object (such as a small sugar spoon) and emboss the center of the paper pedals that make up the sphere on a mouse pad turned upside down. This could help round out the shape. Paper can be stretched and it will hold its shape. On the down side too much embossing can distort the pedals and mess up the fit some times its best to just leave it alone.
