T-34 Tank Maly Modelarz 7-8/96

Next build is the T-34 tank. This one is the Maly Modelarz 1996 version.

A simple and quite crude kit. None the less it does have its challenges. Namely separate track links. Which is the main reason I am building it.

The first stage is to build up the skeleton and glue the skins on. This went quite well and took next to no time.

Looking good.
I believe one of the hull skin pieces is mirror imaged... I think at the back?

Other than that it went together pretty well.

Nice, neat work! I for one like Maly's despite their simplicity and poor paper (at least on the older kits). Even the old ones, when scanned and cleaned up can result in really nice models. If I'm not mistaken, there's a story to this "Rudy" tank. I'll be watching with interest.

Interesting wiki article Kuba. Do you know if the book and TV series was based on an actual tank and crew, or is the "Rudy" totally fictional? I'd love to see the series. I wonder if it's on Netflix etc?

I believe it's entirely fictional.

I've never checked Netflix for it but I have seen the DVD's on sale in various places.

Wheels are all complete!

Straight forward to build, if a little basic

Not too happy how they've come out. But at least they're now built.

Hi there!

I was watching the series as a child and a couple of years again! As far as I know it is entirely fictional, as Gharbad already mentioned. Nevertheless it is one of the best series I've ever seen (btw it is b&w!). "Gustlik" was my favourite character, since he is from Silesia, like me...

The build comes out very well so far! Really nice and clean work! I am looking forward to seeing more!

Rgds,
Radek

PS: My brother built the very same model some years ago, maybe I can encourage him to post some hints and pics here at the forum as well. Or, if you have some question, I am sure he will answer it.
