1:1 Panzerfaust w/ moving parts (hopefully!)

Well, got the week off, so I might as well blow off all my free time with a super-long project!

My model for this week is going to be a 1:1 scale Panzerfaust 60. So far, I have the warhead drawn up, and I'm about to testbuild that.

Meanwhile, have some progress pics:

The propellant for the panzerfaust was black powder.

When it was fired there was a large cloud of white smoke which revealed the position of the soldier firing the panzerfaust.

See: Panzerfaust - what is it?

Yeah, I would imagine that happening. I guess the operator would quite literally have to "shoot and scoot!"

This is an interesting project. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress.

Side note: I recall one of my co-workers stating when he was stationed in Germany ('90s I believe) one of his friends, who studied WWII battlefields found a panzerfaust. The interesting thing is he was playing around, pretending to fire it and it did go off. It launched and went a few yards till it hit a tree. They were well built.

Imagine the mess the poor fellow had to clean up....in his pants! After all my years in the military, the last thing I would do would be to pick up any kind of ordnance off the ground. Still, having a real panzerfaust would be kinda cool. I'll have to make the model look as real as possible.

Sweet Jesus, how scary was that? Well, 'least he didn't need an ordnance disposal squad to remove the bomb from the launchtube for a nice souvenir, eh?

Speaking of the launch tube, that part is done!
