Great work on the Continental engine. These were built at the old Muskegon Army Engine Plant.

Certainly is a Crysler engine - the British had a preference for Shermans with the multi-bank engine - they claimed it was more reliable than the Ford or Continental engine. The comments of mechanics changing out the sparkplugs in the multi-bank engine in the winter of 44-45 in Europe hasn't been recorded.

Regards,

Charlie

Didn't realize they had used other engines. Fords too!

WOW!!! This build just keeps getting better and better. The engine details are amazing. It's a shame you have to put it in the hull (unless you have other plans?) Keep up the good work Dave!

thanks for the nice coments kevin.
Well time to dance a jig pop the cork on some champagne and have a party! I have finished tracks, for both sides and some extra for spares and a bit of extra armour.

The two completed tracks one showing the inside of the track and the other the outside after looking at some old pictures show and fireflies I did notice that the cleats on the rubber treads seem to be a lighter colour so rather than leaving the cleats the same brown colours the treads I painted them with some watered-down steel paint I think it's an improvement.

Spare treads and some track that I'll fix to the front and the side of the turret as extra applied armour I may make up some more but I don't want to bury the model under a lot of track, armour.

Surplus treads and connectors

Now that the masochism is over until the next tracked vehicle I can relax and get back to the engine, and now that I don't have a desk covered in little pots I can even get back to doing some of the SD 14 as the a3 sheets that take up quite a bit of room.

Hello David,
I don't get over to the armory very often. But when I saw you building the "tracks", I had to leave some words of encouragement. Great Work!
Mike
