Here is a quick update...

Now that the holidays are over I can get back to work on the Sherman.
I've managed to get the hull covered. The skins fit almost perfectly, only a little trimming was required, nothing major. Not bad for a hand drawn model. Recently I've been working on the running gear. So far I have all parts for the road wheels cut out and I have started putting them together.

That's it for now.
Kevin

Ah yes! The usual Kevin Stephens craftsmanship. I'm glad to see this fine model taking shape. I look forward to seeing it in May at Army Heritage Day -- if not sooner.

Just wait until you see it mounted on that Dragon Wagon that Kevin is going to build.

Kevin,

I built this model last year. You won't be disappointed in the outcome. So far, you are doing a better and cleaner job than I did on mine.

If you would like to see a previous build of this (for what it may be worth), you can find a build complete build thread on Zealot.

I'll be watching this!

Ken

Kevin,

If you want to add on some parts and pieces to your Sherman, look for the GPM magazine, dated 3/2001
They have some parts and extra for the Sherman, and they also have loads of pictures of the Dragon Wagon.

Still trying to find a proper source for the magazine

Rick

Guys, you don't have to twist my arm too hard, I'd love to take you up on that offer. However, at the rate that I build it will be quite some time!

The Sherman's road wheels are moving along okay, but not as quickly as I'd like. I made one test wheel before cutting out all of the other parts and I'm glad I did because I discovered some minor fit issues, nothing major, but they do require some trimming to go together properly. Once I get the running gear done, the rest of the build should go pretty quickly. (I hope)

But now I have the this OTDAEABT contest to contend with!....(I'm just a sucker for contests and this one sounded like so much fun I just couldn't say no!) So with that said, I'll be focusing on that for awhile or at least until I get too frustrated and give up. Well just have to wait and see how it goes.

Rick, BTW What additional parts are available for the Sherman?
