Progress continues at a snail's pace. Axles are installed and engine build has begun. So far no fit issues but it looks like I may be short a few parts for engine belt pulleys. Looks like I may be fabricating some missing parts...

This is looking so good. Being an engine freak and since that seems to be a really weak point in a lot of paper kits decided to do a little digging on the net. Found this that has some really good restoration shots: Question Diamond T 981 ground-up restoration: the right colors for a wartime Hercules DXFE?

This should prove rather helpful. So far it does appear that the printed colors of the engine components are close to what is shown. Thats at least one good point.

Thanks for sharing!

Engine progress. Fit is still good. I had to make an extra flange for the fan pulley as it was missing one. I also had to narrow the belts as they were too wide to fit in the pulleys (laminated to .5 mm card per instructions).

No major issues though. Fit is still very good.

Continuing with the engine:

Part 97A is printed backwards.

The alignment of the items (95 through 99) on the lower right side of the engine is off a bit.

The valve covers are a bit blocky compared to the actual engine.]

The Exhaust manifold (100) is a bear to bend and shape. It also needs painted yet.

In spite of all this, the engine looks good to my eye so far.
