track links
making tracks
i tried a couple of different things, but could not get a satisfactory track, the wooden mold is promising perhaps, you mold the track and then cut it off its base... this would let the track itself be more delicate in frustrationi moved on the the gun instead of a brass barrel I "hardened" the paper barrel with superglue i cut down the cast mantel, since i intended to cover it with clay so i needed it to give the basic shape, but be a little smaller than the outer shape |

the gun
more on the gun
here i spread a layer of clay over the paper base then i baked it and started to trim it down to shape i have it a coat of paint just to bring out the details of the shape |

more gun
more on the gun
i decided the hump on top was to big, so i cut it down and patched with plaster the next step will be to make the mantle for the gun, which will also be clay over a paper base you can see in the next to last picture the paper base being glued together |
