Gary and David, many thanks. This is indeed "kit bashing". Dave's kit allows quite a bit of potential for adding your own stuff.

Some progress with the fitting out. I fitted some extra supports for the floor.

This supports the fighting compartment floor and the access to the wine rack and driver's compartment.

The floor supplied in the kit has had 15mm removed from the front.

All the best and happy modelling.

Bernie

FYI...those dark coloured spots on the floor panel were for some extra interior components
that I didn't bother with (as the design evolved)
...mainly due to the lack of visibility through the Turret (from the hatchways).

Thanks Dave, thought as much as I can't find any reference to them in the instructions. No worries, I've started tinkering with Serif Draw Plus to make some bits to go here.

All the best and happy modelling.

Bernie

Hello all,

Some work on the driver's seat. I have found some drawings uploaded from a Centurion manual and have used the picture of the seat to add some extra detail.

I have used the seat pan provided in the kit, inverted and used as a base to support the seat operating and fixing details.

The backrest frame from double-thickness of card.

Various brackets from sections of folded card.

Stay tuned.

Some more work on the driver's compartment with various boxes and controls. I'm still working on the seat, but that will be finished soon. All the parts here are as supplied in the kit with the exception of the accelerator pedal, the map/document case and the vertical strut on the left side of the compartment. The extra parts were made from card reinforced with grey-board.

Driver's controls. The clutch and brake pedals were moved slightly to the left so as to accommodate the accelerator which is made from scrap card.

I added some plastic rod to simulate control linkages and I have painted all of these aluminium to provide some contrast in this area.

Some views of the parts fitted.

The knob on top of the gear lever is a handy plastic bead.

All the best and happy modelling.

Bernie
