Dave, glad you like it. Gary, I won't be fitting a diesel in it, just as supplied in the kit. With a few modifications of course. David, thanks for stopping by.
Anyway, I have managed to finish the driver's seat. I didn't fit the height adjustment mechanism under the seat as it would not be visible when fitted. I did make the under-parts which is what has taken me so long. Here are the main sub-assemblies. Seat pan, back-rest and tension adjusters. The back-rest is laminations of grey-board to a thickness of 4mm. The seat squab is a strip of card painted with Tamiya XF-49 Khaki to represent canvas and wrapped around paper lolly sticks. I used the seat support as supplied, but with a couple of spacers to bring the height up a bit. Because I had inverted the pan, it would have been too low. Fitted in place. Till next time, all the best and happy modelling, Bernie |

Hello friends,
C02 bottles fitted and glacis buttoned up. The bottles were turned from dowel with details from card and painted with acrylics. All the best and happy modelling. Bernie |

Once you get all the body in place, and the little hatchways...
its gonna be tough to see any of this... I know, I know...but you'll know its there!... but, have you thought about installing one of those little porthole viewers? You know the things you put into your front door to see whos out there. If you had the guts of one of those viewers (just the lens part)....?

Just finishing up for the night, but I had noticed when I test fitted the engine bay liners that they were too short. I had removed the central keel and this has thrown everything out. No problems, just put in some spacers and a false floor. This raises the floor by 6mm and everything fits just dandy. Till next time. Bernie |

Thanks Johnny, it is a bit of a monster. Anyway, some work on the fuel tanks.
I made bulkheads from 2mm grey-board to reinforce the ends, as I wanted to do some re-shaping here. When assembled, the ends were sanded to a rounded form and then painted silver. When fitted in the engine bay, they provide more contrast in what is an all-white area. The fan housings are shown fitted here too. These were simple and straightforward. Till next time. Bernie |

I'm building the British Army version. The engine bay is mostly complete. It's a tight fit with all the components. Raising the floor by 6mm, you're going to encounter problems with height clearance between the upper engine parts and the engine compartment covers. |

Hi Niki, As far as I can make out, the liners for the engine bay come to the top of the engine/transmission bulkhead. I have re-checked Dave's build on this, so I am sure I'm on the right track. The false floor was just to prevent the parts from flapping about unsupported. This due to me removing the central keel. Yes, I know I'm going off-piste here, but I am enjoying the build. I have encountered problems because of my changes, but this is all part of the fun. This is an incredible kit and I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am. All the best and happy modelling Bernie |
