IDF Sho't Meteor
Hello friends,
This had to be bumped to the top of the pile. I've been itching to get stuck into this one since Dave started designing the Canadian version. So, off we go with the laminating. The skeleton parts have been stuck to 1mm grey-board. There are six A4 pages of these parts. I get my grey-board in 1m by 1/2m sheets from an art supply shop and they are handy for laminating the larger parts. More laminating........ and pages, lots of pages, of parts. Front cover artwork, a page of historical information, 14 pages of instructions and 59 pages of parts, Dave is certainly on to a winner with this series of kits and at £10, presents fantastic value. This has to be the best hobby ever! I can't wait to get started. All the best and happy modelling, Bernie. |

Thanks folks, glad you're watching.
I have made a start by cutting out the bulkheads. Gluing up starts by assembling the bulkheads to the central keel. A square block helps keep everything, well, square. After this first bulkhead, the rest followed in quick succession, followed by the rear plates and the glacis. Not bad for an evening's work. All the best and happy modelling, Bernie |

Hello friends,
Back to work on the Cent' after marking mid-term papers. I have chosen to add some extra reinforcement to the hull floor and some enhancement to the driver's compartment. The reinforcement calls for the central keel to be removed and extra plates fitted to the bottom. I had previously assembled the hull, so I carefully removed each section of keel before fitting a floor panel. My plan is to open up the front bulkhead and add extra detail such as ammo-stowage doors and fire extinguishers etc. around this area. I have also removed a section of the glacis support to get the driver's compartment to fit. I would recommend leaving this off until work on the compartment is complete. Still some chopping-up to do before fitting out. Stay tuned. Bernie |

Before you go too far, let me just say that visibility is a big issue.
Trying to see inside through the driver's hatch is virtually impossible. And visibility in through the Turret is probably worse. Unless you plan on a removeable turret? Then you might have to rethink the turret interior cylinder thingy... There is a false floor that goes under the Turret, but it sits on top of that center "keel". Other than that, I am excited by your remodeling efforts!
