Y's Paper model - Sherman M4 1:72

After reading some chatter here in the forum about Y's little paper tanks I got the itch for a quick build. Besides I need more Alied Armor to show at next weekends Army Heritage Day with Don, Rick, and Greg. I realy like Y's little tank models they are a nice break from the normal 1:25 scale builds with thousands of pieces. With their blank canvas, you can add as much detail to as you like. For the Sherman I added a few extra little details here and there that were not part of the origional one page of parts. Since this is a white model and it was going to be painted this can be done quickly because the OD green covers up everything that might not be just right.

PS...Lala, I did not sub contract the painting...LOL:D

I like that very much. I want myself not to paint one but to color it first so I have the printed detail and colours. Although this looks very nice as well.

Amazing! This is a whole series of giant steps above my poor efforts with Y's tanks.

I have been telling folks at AHEC about your amazing tank models. They won't be disappointed!

Outstanding build; have you ever used colored cardboard?

With lovely greetings

Ok, do you have a pattern for those extra details? I've built that Sherman before and it's nice, but nowhere near as nice as that!

Thanks all for your nice comments.

Don, can't wait to meet up this weekend - really looking forward to it.

Wilford, I've never used colored card stock, but it would make things easier.

Ryan, Sorry to tell you that I don't have a template for the add-ons. I just cut them out as I went along. No real measurements were taken, I just eyeballed everything after looking at a few photos on goggle. I know they're probably not to scale but that's ok with me.

Recently, I've been learning my way around digital recoloring PDF's working in Paint.NET, but more on that later. In the mean time this gives me a reason to break out the old airbrush.

It was nice to see this little tank yesterday. Rick and I have been putting pressure on Kevin to build an M-25 Dragon Wagon to transport his 1/25 Sherman. He (Kevin) brought along a die-cast Dragon Wagon the same scale as the little Sherman, but kept it under wraps during the show so that we could continue to tell the crowd that every model on the table was made of paper.

I think Kevin plans to use the die-cast as a pattern for a future 1/72 paper Dragon Wagon.
