Question on publisher
I swear to whatever powers that be,that I saw a cardmodel of the Soviet 2A3 Kondensator 2P nucular self propelled howitzer. I've searched the Net to no avail.
I "think" it was one of the "bigger" publishers, Fly Model or GPM. Does anyone have any info? |

The only one that I have seen is in 1/50 scale on a Russian paper model forum...sorry I do not have a link handy...I do not think one has been released by one of the mainstream publishers like GPM, Fly Model or Modelik...

Cheers Rick. I've taken out my comment too ... as it's no longer needed.
Ooooh the sabre rattlin' games we used to play with Ivan back then. When I kissed her goodbye in the Morning, I was never sure if I would be coming home again. The Airbase I worked on in Germany must have been a prime target to Ivan. Both sides must have wasted millions on these posturising weapons, that thankfully were never used. Good job Reagan, Blair, and Putin weren't in charge then, eh?

With the impending release of a model of M65 Atomic Cannon - I thought I'd answer the original question. The 1:50 3A3 Kondensator 2P/ 2B1 Oka model is at Kondensator i OKA by IvanSV on DeviantArt.
There's also a model of the C-103 (420mm recoilless gun version of the Kondensator) around but I haven't found a download location. It's not an easy model - the instructions are sparse to non-existent, the model needs lot of reinforcement. I think Tom Lehrer captured the Cold War with... "We'll all go together when we go" "So long Mom I'm off to drop a bomb" About the only thing that can be said in favour of nuclear weapons is that they discouraged (and still discourage) politicians from engaging in large scale wars since they knew they would be first to die and their deaths would be guaranteed in any nuclear exchange. I'd guess it's another oddity with the forum software - the link works fine on my Mac - the link is "http://ivansv.deviantart.com/art/Kondensator-i-OKA-477307246". The quotes might convince the forum software to stop screwing with the link.
