Paper replika Fury

I just saw the fury movie this last week, well... it was such a good movie I thought I should at least try building the tank. This is the first time I have tried making a full size tank... It is a lot different than making it in 1/200 scale like i usually do, so we will see how it goes.

Looks like you're off to a good start Baxter. Should be interesting to see how your build goes. Keep us posted.

Thanks, This design is a little bit weird with the wheels, it looks like the go all the way back and get glued right to the body, when i thought that sherman's wheels were always quite thin and didnt go nearly that far back...

They do glue to the body. The model makes a simplified wheel which is just one piece, not two. The black stripe on the "wheel" just indicates the gap between the outside and inside wheel. The tacks are simplified also, leaving out the "tooth" or whatever it is called that would pass between the inside and outside wheel. When built up it looks pretty good.

I am slow, did you say you are building the Fury in 1/200 or that the other models you build are 1/200?

I was interested in re-scaling the kit to use as a railroad flatcar load. When I was stationed in Germany tanks were often loaded on flatcars to go play games.

World of Tanks has a version of it with a little differently detailed wheel set up, and it is 1/50 scale.

What scale are you looking for Bob? World of Tanks has a couple of different Sherman types and a Hellcat.

I am wanting to fit into HO 1/87 scale, but the big thing needed is time, then skill. Maybe what I really need is sense, then practice.

World of Tanks usually has two versions of their models, one is simpler to build than the other. The simple model should reduce very nicely.

Good Luck!

I've reduced simple versions of tanks from WoT series into 1/87 scale some times and it works! I can recomend it.
