Akc 74y

Hello guys here i go again.
The choice fell to the classic AK family, specifically the AKc 74y, which is short with a cool looking muzzle.
I found some files for a sandwich style model of the weapon, if i build it right it will cycle cartridges from the mag to the chamber and eject them after pulling the bolt.
It also has a working trigger group and bolt carrier so it is possible to make bullets filled with primers to fire a bb or something but i wont be doing that becouse well..its paper so you never know.
Have a nice day .

Progress is going slowly but surely. I completed the trigger and dissconnector which is between the trigger side plates and i put a spring in it. The auto sear is also competed and it will go behind the hammer just before the magazine well. Its main purpose is to prevent out of battery discharge by holding the hammer down until the bolt finishes its cycle completely. Started on the hammer and rate reducer whick goes on the other side of the trigger opposite of the hook. The i need to build the selector/safety ans craft the springs for the mechanism and the trigger group is then complete.

I always enjoy watching these projects, but I often don't know what type of questions to ask.

But we are watching, just not sure what comments to make.

Keep up the good work

Thanks Vermin-King , well yeah i tend to choose topics like that. So i finished the trigger group, everything works but i couldn't find a proper wire for the spring so this one deforms a little after cocking the hammer therefore removing the tension from the trigger when its not cocked. But i added a little extra spring to fix it.
Auto sear should also have a spring but i won't make it becouse i dont need it the rifle won't actually fire anything so yeah. Next up is the rear trunnion and the foldable stock thingys. Enjoy your day gentleman.

Thanks Elliott, i appreciate that. After the battles with 2mm thick paper pieces i finished the rear trunnion, praise the Lord haha. Anyway everything checks out so far, just need to build the stock which will be just 3 sheets bended in u shape and riveted together, and the front hook latch thingy that hold the stock in place when folded. But the grip first. I also bought a tool for cutting holes in belts, but it cuts paper and cardboard like its butter. It has a lot if sizes for the holes and saves me from hours of cutting or drilling tiny holes.

Your build looks great!

For the hammer spring, twist two wires together of the same gage, or one gage smaller than the other, you'll know by feel what will work. That might give you just enough resistance needed for the trigger group to set back to zero.

Very nice work, subscribing to this one.

Dominikisuste, outstanding craftsmanship you have there!

By the way, are you familiar with Tacome1942 over at Youtube? He shoots primer rounds out of his creations. Obviously, be super careful and all that, but personally, I think it's a great skill to have.

Thanks for sharing your work here. It never ceases to amaze me what can be done with paper!

Thanks alot guys i really means much to me. Yeti yes i am familiar with Tacome and he makes incredible guns, he is actually one of the factors that pushed me in the gun making. Paper is amazing so much can be made with it and it only requires patience and imagination...and glue...a lot of glue 😃
Btw Runkie yes i saw that its the original ak 47 trigger spring and i will probably be making a new spring just like you said. Thanks for the advice.
