T28 Concept

Hello everyone.

After finishing the E-25, I decided to try to make another prototype tank.

This time the model is the T28 Concept, from the game World of Tanks.

About the tank:
"The development of this heavy breakthrough tank began in September 1943. It was planned to utilize certain components of the M6 tank as well as the electromechanical transmission and 105-mm T5 gun, mounted in a turret of limited traverse with 203-mm armor protection. The vehicle was intended to assault the fortifications of the German "Siegfried Line" (known as the "Westwall" to the Germans). The U.S. land forces rejected the project during the design phase. The vehicle was later modified into the T95 heavy breakthrough tank."

But I don't know how true it is, because I couldn't find any extra information.

I'm not going to make it 100% identical, because there are details that I won't be able to do.

The tank is being made in Sketchup and as you can see I only made the structure of the tank, missing some details like the cannon and the hatches. That will be the next phase. The wheels and the tracks will be made with reference to the M6A1 Heavy Tank (T1E1 Heavy Tank).

My biggest difficulty is to define how to make the small curves that are inclined, like in the last picture (side turret), because I admit I have no idea how many vertices to use to make these details.
I want to try to find a pattern where I don't need too many vertices and the model still looks good.

That's it for now friends.
As soon as I have new details I will show you.
I hope you enjoy
Regards

T28 concept looks like a sci-fi game piece or movie prop study.
Cool!

Yep, that's the hardware the concept studies ultimately led to.
