Free download at Landships II look under the "Wayne McCullough" menu item.

It's a fairly challenging build even in 1/48.

My build of the Gun Carrier is at: Wayne's Gun Carrier Mark I Beta build
I know Shawn Dymond did one as well but I can't remember whether he documented his build.

Regards,

Charlie

Superb build Charlie, and congrats to Wayne for yet another brilliant model!

The other beta build of the gun carrier was by Bernie, and can be found here - Gun Carrier Mk.1 Beta2

I just need to try and find time to get some modelling done now (would really love to get my conversions tidied up enough to put on to LandshipsII!)

A new build - this time intended for my Gun Carrier. To make the 6inch howitzer model fit in the Gun Carrier a few changes have to be made. The brakes are folded back against the trail sides - there is a bracket and pins on the original gun to do this. The clamp for the loading chute is glued onto the trail sides and against the loading chute - on the original gun this stops the gun working against the elevation/traverse gears when it moves potentially damaging the gears. The sights are left off - they went into leather boxes for transport. The wheels are attached to the side of the Gun Carrier - it's a matter of speculation how they got them on to the side. On the original the wheels were secured by chains - I haven't done this (yet).

The wheels have the extensions intended to allow the gun to be towed over soft ground.

Regards,

Charlie

That's looking very good.

An interesting model (and video)!!

Where in the future is the howitzer likely to be available do you think? On Landships II (like the piece with the Compton Destroyer) or somewhere else?

It will be on Landships II. Wayne is tweaking the instructions so it can be
made for the Gun Carrier as well as stand alone. I think we're talking about a time scale of weeks but I'll let
papermodelers know when it goes on Landships.

There may be a camouflaged version of the howitzer as well.

Charlie

Wayne would like another beta build before putting the 6" howitzer model up for download. If anyone would like to try PM me with your email address and I'll send the files. I think there's a choice of green camouflage and khaki versions.

Regards,

Charlie
