According to Bovington it floated ok. The tracks had foldable paddles bolted to them every 13 track elements - the paddles did a fair job propelling the thing.
I guess steering on water was done by braking one track. The British had a thing about amphibious tanks - the Medium D tank was designed to be amphibious. Regards, Charlie |

There is a preserved pig (non-amphibious version) at Bovington. Strictly speaking, it is a Mk IX tank, but could be classed as an APC or an AFV. There's a nice paper model of it from Wayne McCullough on the Landships forum.
