Hi, Thanks guys!
I decided to don't use varnish before sanding. I just used Tamiya putty and GW Liquid green stuff to fill in the gaps. After that I used sandpaper to make the surface smooth and nice before painting and adding extra parts. Next I added all the details with extra rivets and hinges. Now model is almost ready to paint. Before I do it I'd like to put one thin coat of varnish. I decided to do it now. I've painted maxims. Firstly I put 2 thin coats of Tamiya XF-69 as a base coat. Next I mixed Citadel Abaddon Balck and Leadbelcher to make a first layer. After that I've done heavy drybrush with Citadel Leadbelcher and as a next step I've drybrushed them with Citadel Runefang Steel to make some highlights. The last step was adding some shades with Citadel Nuln Oil. Now I am going to paint the wheels and the hull. I do not have airbrush so it might be a little bit difficult. I am going to use Tamiya spray paints. Lukas |

Looking good. A recommendation for the Tamiya sprays is to seal the parts, or at least a coat of primer, first. The Tamiya colors are really thin and will just soak in the card.

whusley, thanks for the hint. I am going to prime the model. Is Tamiya primer good? I have this one. I am wondering now how it will react with paper. I use it for plastic model and it's fine.

The Tamiya white primer has become the go-to primer for lots of the model car guys as long as they're not using actual automotive paints (even thought I'd heard some of the guys say they're had good luck even then as long as your 1st few color coats are really light). As always test on a scrap piece first.

Hi,
I've done with the prime coat. As I wrote above I used Tamiya surface primer (gray). After that I used Tamiya spray dark green (TS-2). Two thin coats. Now I am going to use these: I wanna make some color modulation. After that I will wash it, but I don't know yet if I should use oil wash or GW/Tamiya wash. |

Hi,
I set up highlights using Citadel Elysian green and Nugling green. Then I used oil colors to make some marks and as a filter I used Citadel Asthonian Camoshade. Next I added some rainmarks and shaded all the details with Citadel Agrax Earthshade. I've done chipping with Citadel Rhinox Hide. Model looks now like this: I've done similar things with the wheels. For rubber bands I used Tamiya XF-69 then Citadel Eshin Grey and Dawnstone. All shaded with Citadel Nuln Oil. Now I am going to add some dust and dry mud. Lukas |
