Free Model #5 - WAK Jeffery-Poplavko Armored Car

Hi,

Welcome in my new report. The model that I'll make is for Free Model Contest #5
Model that I am going to make is Jeffery-Poplavko aromored car. It's a free model from WAK. Here's the link to the model: Jeffery-Poplavko

Model is in 1/25 scale. I am going to paint it. Because of that, I won't retouch it during work. I haven't decided yet about color scheme but probably it will be Russian Empire.

The kit consist of 3 sheets of A4. I've printed 2 sheets on 180 gsm paper and one sheet on 80 gsm paper. I put 2 layers of acrylic varnish on sheets with parts. Sheet with skeleton I've stuck on 0,5mm cardboard.

I've made two maxim machine guns and engine flap so far. I've made paper stipes on maxim barrels. I've also made dents on maxims' surface with needle to make them more realistic.
On the flap I've added paper rivets.

Next I am going to do wheels.
I have some pictures of Jeffery-Poplavko car, but if you have some more interesting photos, please kindly share if you can. Thanks

Lukas

Hi,

I've finished the wheels. Everything was fine.
I stuck main parts of the wheels on 1mm cardboard to make them harder and also for more comfortable work with sand paper. Instruction says that I should use 0,5 mm. Anyway I think 1mm is better in this case.

I added rivets on the wheels and also 2 paper stripes to make some texture of rubber bands around the wheels. After that I used sand paper to make them smooth and to give them some nice shape.

Next, I've added rest of the parts. Now wheels are done and ready to paint

I am going to make the skeleton now.

Hello,

I've done the skeleton.

I used cardboard 'blocks' to make the skeleton a little bit harder. It wasn't necessary.

I don't know if I've made a mistake, but 3 parts were to small (around 1mm). It's not na big problem coz these parts will be covered.

Complete skeleton looks like this:

The skeleton is before sanding.

Now I am going to work a bit with sandpaper, putty and cover the skeleton.

Now it's time for putty and sandpaper.
I am wondering if I should put one thin coat of varnish before sanding.
Anyway model looks like this:
