6x6 MRAP Cougar - 1/25 by Orlik
Whilst work on HMS LANCE slows, due to the impending difficult bits, I have started working on this 6x6 Mine Resistant vehicle from Orlik.
Experience so far suggests this is an excellent kit, with no interior, and any fit issues so far are almost certainly down to the builder not the designer. I haven't seen many(any) of these built so far so thought I would show my build in case anyone else is considering this excellent model. So picture of progress so far, I have been working for probably 1 or 2 weeks of evenings. As always tips, pointers, criticisms etc greatly appreciated. Russ |

Following with interest. If you don't open up any doors you can't really see much interior so that's not a big problem. I took a quick look on Google and looks like a lot of photos of the interior if someone does want to get crazy.

Thanks for all the comments. I have no ambition to open up the doors, this is only my 3rd paper model and my 1st road armored vehicle. So as it comesis plenty for me for now.

Somebody that's rational about his building. Unfortunately I start looking at all those photos and like a moth to a flame; the next thing its a major project that probably never gets finish. Oh well, its like my grandmother used to say about me; 'at least he sits quietly in his corner entertaining himself'.

I don't think anyone is rational about their build, are they, my issues is struggling to finish one as there are so many exciting new things to build. Its actually part of the reason I started paper models, I got too obsessed with the details etc on plastic models, had to buy every accessory aftermarket kit going, then find all the detail follow everyone elses build and never build anything. So or now the focus is trying to complete something, which is challenge enough. Russ |

Bit more progress from the last few days, completed the rear mudguards and storage boxes for one side, the instructions are not the clearest here and I found that I had done them incorrectly, (finally realised as I put the last pieces together.
Anyway I now know what to do for the other side when I get to it. Also decided to do the spare wheel, this was my first attempt at a wheel, so |I thought starting on the spare means I can leave it out if it turns out a disaster. Anyway they come with laser cut lettering to privide the sidewall relief and laser cut treads, both of which make for a far simpler construction. And whilst there are some issues in neatness and a few strays from true circles I'm pretty pleased so far. Some nuts and final assembly still required. Anyway here are the pictures.
