MT-LB Russian armored personnel carrier - 1/25 (scratch build)

MT-LB has been designed as a tractor designed for towing artillery guns antitank T-12 caliber 100 mm. As time began to be used as an armored personnel carrier. He was admitted to the equipment in 1964 and has since built on the chassis of many of other vehicles, both auxiliary and combat. MT-LB were used by Soviet troops in the Afghan war, and after the collapse of the Soviet Union were used in almost all the major armed conflicts in the post-Soviet area. Significant amounts of MT-LB was provided by the Soviet Union to the Member States of the Warsaw Pact and neutral countries, e.g. to Finland and Iraq. Still they are used in many regional conflicts. Since the mid-80s without a weapon is used in the economy in the far north of Russia.

MT-LB is produced in Poland by HSW. On the Polish armed forces located several hundred vehicles for various purposes using the MT-LB chassis.

The model shows the vehicle in the base version. It is intended to be complete, that is, with a full interior, engine and opening all the hatches and covers. I have a documentation service + parts catalog from the store. In Poland, this is a military vehicle with the great mysteries (!) while in our brother from the East is also a civilian vehicle to move around Siberia, so the documentation is publicly available. Because the vehicle has a lot of manhole covers and this is the point in doing it from the inside because you will be able to see everything. What paint is not yet fully have an idea. There are two options: 1- standard green, 2 - four-color camo ala NATO as today's vehicles in polish army. The problem, however, is that the basic version was with us only a few vehicles.

So, the project looks in renders:

Model build will not be in any order because I must check what needs to be glued together as the first which can be later. I not made to date the vehicle with interior.

The first one goes engine. It is true that it will be visible only from above, but it would be fun to have it captured in its entirety.

The engine of the project looks like this:

Well, the first cutting and parts:

In a previous career, I have had the opportunity to see most of the variants based on
the MT-LB chassis, as well as crawl over and ride in one. The MT-LB is most likely my favorite APC.

Please tell me this will be available to the modeling public!!

This is going to be an excellent project to watch.

I made the air filter and started gluing equipment:

To rest a moment I made the engine cover:

I made the rest of the equipment and all joined together. There are still no pipes from the manifolds to the muffler, but the engine is ready. Probably still do add some "wires" to make it look better. My first engine is ready, and I'm happy with it:

Now I think I'll start working on "dashboard".
