1/50 20/25tp

I just finished my build of this Polish concept tank from 1938. In 1936 the Polish military had put in a request for a medium tank of between 20 and 25 tons. It's main gun had to be 70-75mm, and it had to be equipped with 3 heavy machine guns: 2 housed in small turrets in the front of the tank, and another MG coaxial to the main gun. 3 companies submitted drawings. KSUS submitted 2 different concepts. Variant I would have weighed in around 22 tons, and was powered by one engine. Variant II had heavier armor, 8 road wheels per side, and would have been powered with two engines to drive its heavier weight of 25 tons. Due to the Nazi invasion of Poland, none of the 4 designs were ever built, although one of the companies did manage to put together a full sized plywood mock up.

The 1/50 scale white model was designed by Ivan Sukhorukov. I colored and textured it with Photoshop, and added a few extra details. The base is paper with a maple wood grain. I layered on a dirt road texture taken from the ol' interwebs, and dressed it up with a little static grass.

Thank you fellas. I still have a few details to add: wire grab handles on the hatches, fender brackets, maybe a munitions crate or some fuel cans at the rear. It'll be at USAHEC next week, Kevin. I look forward to seeing you all there.

Missed this yesterday. Powerful-looking tank. Outstanding model and display.

I look forward to seeing it on 1 April at the USAHEC "Military History Through Paper Modeling" Event. 1 April 2017 Paper Modelers' Event at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center

Many thanks, guys. It was a very enjoyable build of a little known and unrealized tank design.
