Saw this a while ago.
Its a nice model...the big scale makes it very impressive. But I thought it was way too simplified and lacking details for such large scale. ...maybe it was intended that way though. Might not appeal to a real Tank modeller, but should impress anyone who just wants to build big scale paper. $45 gets you a PDF? No thanks. ........ what does that mean "you're lipping!"? never heard that before.

It is a nice model - and the price is down to 38 dollars now.
While pricy I am not certain if it is not reasonable given the numbers of pages involved - 223 A3 pages of parts. That works out at 0.17 cents per page. But my word it is going to be expensive to make anyway with the mountain of material and printing needed! Wish I'd found this model a few years back - I would have done it!

Atamjeet commissioned Julius Perdana to create the model at the scale given.
And from what I have been able to gather, Jules delivered the model file to Atamjeet around the start of the year. I am certain there is a T-90 out that isn't quite as big as this one.

$38 USD I guess....$45 Canadian for me.
I didn't realize this was created by Julius Perdana. Now I understand the simplistic effect. His stuff is very precise and clean looking. But, as I said, at this scale, it screams for more surface details, textures, weathering, etc. At least that is my opinion.

You are right about the detail. The real thing is also covered in tubes and wires.

Enlarge the templates of any of airdave's 1/16 tanks by 267%, you can get a very detailed
1/6 tank, measuring more than 6 feet, I believe. Any one? Papermate |

My Hull and Turret...and its interior...would enlarge no problem to that scale. If you can find the printer to print the 68 pages on larger stock. (22"x30" bristol or poster board for each page?) You would need to beef up the suspension though. Add a bit more internal support to some of the Drive Wheel and suspension components. But I would still sell you the kit for 15.95!

This Indian Tank actually looks bit better when viewed closer.
I see there is a lot more texturing and colour variation than I thought. I also see some simplistic surface details. Sometimes less can be more. Its still overpriced.

one could really go to town with superdetailing such build. it looks simple. too simple for such scale - where is interior, where are hatches & hinges ect ect. only unique thing about it is the scale....
printing pdf files goes both ways - all what needs to be done with printing is small deduction of print size using scale: eg 1:25 to 1:35 === 25/35=0.71% print size using same sheet size as original kit. other way round: 1:16 to 1:6 = 16/6 approx 266% print size... |
