1/48 Leclerc S2 MBT
Hello gentlemen!
I still got a month of summer holiday left so i guess it's good time as ever to finish my model backlogs. So here's one build that's been laying on the shelf from 2014(!), Leclerc S2 from Paper Replika: Leclerc Main Battle Tank Well, it's not exactly from PR website though. Back in the 2006 several MBT models from PR - Abrams, Leopard, Leclerc, Challenger, T-90 and Scorpion - were published in printed form under local aviation & military magazine "Angkasa". The kits were offset printed on 210 gsm Art Carton in very high quality, Art Carton is good for boxy tank chassis but for the details and gun barrel i had to use PR digital download printed in thinner 160 and 80 gsm paper, respectively. I bought the book second hand for 20% off original price, very good bargain i'd say considering the kits were complete and in good condition. Looking from the first picture's metadata i started the Leclerc about three years ago: Completed turret: Hull (note the gloss on front glacis): Drive sprocket and road wheels: I restarted the build few months ago and spent last three days finishing it, here's the result. The finished model sprayed with matt varnish and weathered using acrylic paint:

More Pictures...
Gun barrel made from 80 gsm paper, it consists of two part: Inner barrel and outer, shorter thermal sleeve. Unlike other contemporary MBTs the Leclerc doesn't have bore evacuator, instead it used compressed-air fume extraction system:
Rear view showing drop tank hardpoints, I rarely see drop tanks used on real life Leclerc so i decided to left them out altogether. (so i decided to left them out) Scratchbuilt AANF1 7.62mm MG The finished model and the book: That's it gentlemen, hope you like it and see you on the next build
