Original Tank battle.

OK, if our guns ain't 'avin' a lot of effect ... we'll just shove the bu**er into the trench!

As a retired-grunt, tanks and ground attack aircraft give me bad memories so I tend to avoid them, but I couldn't resist this little tableau from an old ABC magazine. I shrunk it to half size first though. Lots of hypo glue drops and tweezer use to build it though.

Great diorama. Very good work. I like those old tanks. The A7V was more like an armored car.

Excellent! Both models look great. I wonder if this vignette is based on an actual incident?

Only in the general sense that there was an engagement of a Mark IV Male tank and an A7V on 24th April 1918 outside the village of Villers-Bretoneaux. The engagement was between two Mark IV Female tanks, the Mark IV Male and A7V #561 "Nixe". Fire from the A7V damaged both female tanks and these withdrew. The Mark IV Male managed to hit the A7V three times with 6 Pounder rounds. The crew bailed out of the A7V, the Mark IV withdrew, the A7V crew found the engine was still running, remounted the tank and withdrew a couple of kms before the A7V finally expired.
Landships II

The second tank vs tank battle later on the same day was between an artillery battery, A7V #525 "Siegfried" and a number of Whippets (9 or 12). About 7 of the Whippets were knocked out with the A7V claiming 3 of them.

Nice diorama, Johnny, and pukka gen, Charlie.

I understand your point of view, Johnny. "I'd rather dig. A movin' foxhole attracks th' eye." https://i.pinimg.com/736x/7f/a2/c6/7...r-nose-art.jpg

Although I did look favorably on ground attack aircraft back in the day.

Don ...My main problem with tanks and ground attack aircraft was they all seemed to be unaware whose side I was on. I lost a lot of mates to so called friendly fire.
