I have some catching up to do. Here are parts 36-40.

Assembly of 36 is not very intuitive and placement on the engine is not outlined much at all. Once I figured out what went where though, assembly was not an issue.

37 was a breeze, no issues

38 is the belt and pulley installation. I used Snake's advice but think that certain parts of the pulleys need not be so thick. Once I placed the engine in the frame the bottom pulley wedged against the front axle mount.

The exhaust build from parts 39 was a little exhausting. The manifolds were fiddly and I don't like rolling long thin tubes from cardstock. Snakes input on parts issues were mostly right although I have yet to glue the exhaust pipe assemblies in place since they are in need of some paint.

Parts 40 are the details shown on the right side of the oil pan. The only issue is the silver canister and engine bolt are supposed to occupy the same space.

Anyway, I think I'm at a point where I may need to build something else just to change things up a bit.

Exhaust installed. Fits fine as far as I'm concerned. also after a very short break to work on other things, I have started the winch. Diagrams and parts placement shown on what is provided are already giving me some issues. more on this later.

First section of the winch is made from parts 41. This is a tricky assembly only because the diagrams are only somewhat helpful to determine orientation of parts. Also there are no markings on the parts themselves to help define proper placement.

Anyway, I used my trusty Tamiya winch assembly to determine all of this and think I'm on the right track.

Parts 42 is up next, which will be the worm drive that connects to the PTO of the transmission.

Parts 42 and 43 of the winch

I found a diagram that was eluding me and it actually confirms I am on the correct path to build the winch.

Parts 42 are for the worm drive housing. The build diagram for this sub-assembly is wrong! after building the main body, swap the location of each end's parts to build it correctly so the drive shaft exits the housing at the right end later on. Picture three shows the wrong way while picture four shows it corrected.

Parts 43 are a mixture of things: the frame mounting brackets, control valve mount and drive mechanism lever. The location of a control rod is also shown for the standard version, however I am unsure of the routing since I will be mounting the optional blade at the back of the vehicle.

Parts 44 are the drive shaft between the worm drive and transmission PTO.
I can build up the basic parts but suspect I will need to paint and install the drive assembly before the shaft is finished.

Parts 45 are for the winch cable reel. the outer flared rings are too short. since I tend to overlap parts like this anyway for easier assembly, I just had a few places with some white showing.

Cable is embroidery floss.

Part 46 was the rear cable guide for the standard Famo, but since I intend to install the blade, all these parts were replaced with Optional Parts 5. This guide is center mounted so it is easier to use to raise and lower the blade assembly.

Next up is the rear pintle hook assembly.
