PzKpfw III Ausf G

So here is what have been occupying my time and taking me from my torpedo boat build. I've had this kit for some time. The build is going slowly. GPM's instructions aren't the greatest for me, this being my first GPM build. I believe it is going together great. I'm being real careful with the cutting. I believe the fit doesn't allow for too much error.

Have to say also that there is a lot of lamination required. The parts to this kit have little white space to separate them from the page so it leaves little room then once laminated.

So far looks good to me!

This is the sister kit to the StuG III I'm currently building (see my "Famo, trailer und Stug III" thread elsewhere on this forum). I agree that the diagrams and instructions are not the best and assembling by part number is difficult at time. I have had to create my own build sequence in some sections to get stuff to play nice.

While obviously not identical in every way, there are many shared parts between them, especially the engine, transmission and external running gear, so if you get stuck and see that I've covered that part already in my build, let me know. Likewise, I may have to consult with you if I hit a sticking point as I progress.

Aboht 8 years ago now I bought the 1:16 scale version, but was relatively new to paper modelling and kind of messed it up. Have considered rebuying now that I know what I'm doing. Will be following this build with interest.

Will do, Greg. I found that lining up the parts after being cut helps to work out how they go together. So glue AFTER working it out. LOL

So I now have all parts 1 all attached. Again, not too thrilled with GPM instructions and diagrams. This is a good learning curve though if anyone hasn't tried a GPM.

For now, I need to get back to the shipyard to finish my torpedo boat. Need to get it done.

Be back in a bit.

Looks great - nice and clean - especially good edge coloring.
