One thing that bothers me with the Type 95's is that the white inner wheels show. I'm planning on revising the file with partial inner wheels to avoid that. So don't print it off yet.
Those are cute little buggers, though. I'm surprised that out of the thousands that were built, that there aren't more that have survived

Yeah. I was planning to glue black disks to the inner sides of the wheels.
If you are going to add the inner wheel surfaces, I would love to have the proper shapes for the fenders, too. Don |

Thanks for a Kurogane, Vermin_King.
I'm still waiting for your Chinese Polikarpov I-16.

The I-16 would be nice, but I was talking about MY bench littered with unfinished projects, not casting nasturtiums at Dave, who is very productive and generous.
Incidentally, Kacper, I really like the Pacific War models you have posted here in the Forum and look forward to seeing more. Don (Perhaps I should explain to Forum members to whom English is a second language and English speakers under the age of 70, "casting nasturtiums" is an old slang term meaning to criticize. It is a mispronunciation of the term "casting aspersions.") |

I just did darker disks to glue onto the insides of the tires
Trying to give room to attach to the treads wasn't going to work. Fenders should be good. On the trial build, I was able to measure the exposed tabs to get the length that I needed to increase the length of the fenders. It is nice to have something you can measure linearly.

I also had some build photos from the test build which will help
It is important to note, when attaching the bottom fender piece, to glue the middle, under the main body first and work out to the ends. Also, I changed the front to have a panel that closes the nose of the hood. The grill glues onto the panel

Thanks, Dave. This is all very helpful. I copied all the images and narrative and printed out the revised version. I had already printed out the earlier one, so have some spares to work with. I've been tied up trying to get the syllabus for my Pacific War Strategy elective ready to go, so haven't done any paper modeling since the holidays, but have two free days ahead and bad weather predicted, so hope to finish Dave Winfield's Kool Wheelz Little Willie and Mk. VIII Indiana Jones version, to try my hand at these, and to make a beginning on Wayne McCullough's Schneider CD tractor. We'll see how far I get.
As I used to conclude my messages to the JCS: Will keep you informed. Don |

Boose Model
Dave's Type 95 scout car goes together very well. I managed to get one built, although it does not look as good as Dave's originals.
Most of the images in the thread have disappeared into the ewigkeit, and it was not until after I finished the model that I discovered a printed copy of some of the images that showed that the entire bottom of the chassis, including the fenders and running boards is to be glued to the cab as one piece. Now that I know this, the future builds will be easier (I cut the cab bottom/running boards and fenders out and glued them on separately). Domo arigato for making this model available, Dave. I will display it on Saturday at the Northern Virginia IPMS show in Fairfax. Don |

I should probably re-post the build photos

Nice model, Don but something with the right fender went wrong. It's strangely inclined.
I guess that Tokyu produced Kuroganes were less popular than the ones by Nihon Nainenki. Everytime I read many different sources about Kuroganes there's information it's produced by NN. Tokyu is rarely mentioned.
