Merkava kit differences
Hello friends,
I've a question about the two kits from the israelian tank "Merkava". The one is from "gpm" and the other from "Angraf". What are the differences in colour scheme and level of details? Thank you in advance and attention.

The GPM "Merkava" is a older model and was designed during the transition between hand drawn models and computer designed models. I have the GPM 033 model in my collection. What I would expect is that the model may have some fit problems which was typical for older models. I would go with the Angraf model being a newer model it should have better detail. you can also get laser cut track links for the Angraf kit. Jim Nunn

Hello Jim,
thank you for your reply. I suppose, too, that the Angraf kit may be more detailed and as a great advantage: laser cut tracks. Would you say the colour scheme of the gpm kit is satisfying (in product description: desert scheme)?

The two models represent two different generations
The GPM model is Merkava Mark II from the mid 80' s while the anagram model is a Merkava mark IV from mid 2000. Newer Tanks have an the active anti missile system called "meil ruah" (wind jacket) and the called Merkava mark IV m.

Hello tg1968,
thank you for your information. Hmmm...now I've a good reason buying both kits...let us see. There is although exists a second edition of the gpm kit with a mine sweeping device, but it seems to me, that this is the same generation like the first edition kit from gpm. Same construction? Same camoflage?

Hi peaceglue,
I am not familiar with the kits, only with the tanks.... Israeli armor is painted khaki, not camouflaged. There is no "desert scheme".... |
