1:50 Schneider CA1 (Early)
Another Wayne McCullough design. This one is a bit older and has laminated sheets to indicate what the suspension looked like rather than the detailed built up design of the Schneider CD models. The model looks simple but the front of the hull is made up of a number of pieces at strange angles to each other. I found it quite tricky to get everything lined up.
There was an option to add the additional armour plates which were issued after the initial use of the Schneider CA1 but I chose not to use these. The white ace of spades marking isn't accurate - there was a system of white shapes (square, circle, etc) to indicate the group or company and a black ace of spades, hearts, etc to indicate the section or battery. Great construction, very nice models.I have a few designs of the Lord McCullough waiting, I will have to encourage myself once and for all to build them.

Excellent build. His designs a really quite good, though I have yet to build any of them.

First challenge - find a ruler marked in inches....
The model is a little under 5" overall. The body is 3.9" long Regards, Charlie |
