HMLS Centipede - 1/48
Hey,
And now some WW-I artillery: The HMLS Centipede (or "Big Willie" or "Mother"). But in fact the Mark I Heavy Tank. This one is the "male-version" with the 6-pounders naval artillery. That's it up to now Grts, Joost |

Not quite - "Mother" aka "Big Willie" aka "HMLS Centipede" was the prototype for the rhomboid tanks. The Mark I is the production version of Mother - the idea of machine gun only tanks (the females) was partly due to a shortage of 6 Pounder guns.
I think Shawn Dymond did a great job modifying Wayne McCullough's Mark I model. It's a pity Shawn hasn't been able to get back to finishing some of the other modified Mark I and IV models. Regards, Charlie (landships.info) |

It's been a while since the last update, but finally some progress on this one.
Here are some pictures: And preparing the tracks: And now a lot of cutting edges to color... Grts, Joost |

You're doing a great job of this one, and it's always good to see someone building a model you've designed (or, in this case, adapted from Wayne's superb Mk.I models).
Funnily enough Charlie, I've been revisiting old model files since Christmas and think it's time to try and complete some of those Mk I variations (and maybe the Medium Mk B Whippet I had complete the preliminary sketches of), so, watch this space! Regards All Shawn
