In theory, this one has less detail, no engine, and should be a simpler build. Unfortunately, the chassis diagrams are a total mess and there are no patterns for the parts you need to make, primarily the drive shafts and exhaust pipe.

The paper is current Answer semi-gloss printed surface like the Diamond T, so glue adhesion is a little bit of an issue. Crafter's choice and super glue are generally better choices for this model. Also, folds crack the color so they need edge colored too.

Here is the bed assembly. Fit was vague at many places. some parts mods were required to get everything to fit decently.

In regards to installing the vertical posts on the slats for the sides and front, here is a tip:

The slats are spaced correctly for final placement on the vertical posts, so only cut out the center white areas between the slats and DO NOT cut the outside edges of them while still on their "page". Then attach the vertical posts. When dry, cut the slats free from their page and enjoy perfectly straight and square bed sides.

Imagine that, I'm behind on my posts again.

Got mired in tires for a bit, then got lazy about posting.

Anyway, the tires presented a few challenges, the primary one being the side walls split in two. The outside and inside bevels of the sidewalls are separate pieces.

Then there is the cab.

The interior parts fit OK. Things are a bit Spartan though.

The cab wall parts are a little short in length. I had to insert filler pieces between the doors and the cowling strip on each side.

The windshield section does not have any sort of locating marks. I aligned the top edge with the roof framework and I think I mounted it too low. However, if I had mounted it higher the roof frame edge would have been visible through the front windshield.

This may have lead to the next fit issue. The roof panel comes no where near covering the roof framework. I had to choose to have a gap to fill at the front or rear. I chose the front. like the side panel gaps, I inserted a piece of filler paper but still had to putty and dress the area. Then I had to paint the alterations. Thankfully, the Vallejo US dark green I have is virtually an exact match.

finished this one up last night. Fenders, headlights, running boards and a few other details were all that was left.

The headlights had one bug. The center ring was too large in diameter where it met the main light ring. I had to cut in some reliefs so the mounting posts would attach correctly for proper light alignment when glued to the fenders.

The running board attachment marks on the frame were too far back. It was much easier and better looking to attach them to the proper marks on the fenders and to the bottom edge of the cab before attaching the whole cab assembly to the frame.

I also had to trim the front fender mounting brackets at the bottom so they would clear the front tow hooks.

Anyway, its all done and I can get on with something else...

ps: what is in that last picture? Is that an AMT Peterbilt plastic model? Why yes it most certainly is...

It's a real beauty, Greg!

You did a fine job on that Peterbilt, too. It looks almost as good as a paper model.

As you can imagine, that image reminded me of the time I eavesdropped on two guys at the Cumberland Valley IPMS meet who were arguing over whether your Modelik Ford GPA 1/4 ton amphibious jeep was a Fujimi or a Tamiya.

Ah yes the infamous GPA "Seep" debate...

Thanks all for following along and chiming in. I appreciate it!
