GPM De Dion Bouton 75 mm

The FB Panzer Page is having another theme build, so I decided to join in with this one. The theme is wheeled armor/military vehicles, no tracks allowed

I do not see any sort of lamination key anywhere. I don't think this model requires any. That would be a nice change of pace. Hope its not all spindly in the end...

What a beaut that model is...

Will watch you build with interest - with a view to getting one myself.

Also will be interested to see how it goes without lamination. Sure it will be fine!

Well I spoke too soon. There are a few lamination call outs within the instructions themselves. No codes or anything else, just buried in the middle of the (Polish) instructions. I did discover how my phone can be used to scan the text and get a basic translation on screen, so there is that.

They just assume you will buy the laser cut set.

I wish that GPM would include laminating and other fallouts in its instructions. It's not hard to translate but it is a pain...

Great choice of kit, Greg, this is one that I have ready to go so I may follow a step or two behind you...

Only two parts call for lamination as far as I can see in my rough and dirty translation, so a laser cut set would be almost useless...

Good thought though!

Agree! I do like the few that do have English instructions, but a legend with all the call outs is most helpful. Translating can be imprecise and unnecessarily time consuming.

So here is the beginning of this build, the basic frame.

No laminated parts, however there are separate inside and outside pieces which doubles thickness for strength.

location of the vertical cross pieces is well marked but the top and bottom plates for each are not and the drawings are too vague to help. Centering these plates seems to be the correct move for parts 4, 5, and 6. Part 3 appears to be a C channel shape.

The rear storage(?) bin is a tight fit. I had to trim the top and bottom plates of the frame and cross members to get it to fit. The bin still slid in snuggly and is not glued.

Supposedly the center box is the fuel tank. The front seats mount on top of it later on .

Good start. Interesting vehicle. The model looks complex.
