Same problem,same solution here.

Since everything is closed there is no point in going out so I hope to catch up with some projects.

New WIP update.

I did some more work today, mostly with the grating. Once again my boxes full of various "junk" had something useful for my scratch projects.
By the way, I think I'll show you one of these boxes in the next update. It's really good to have something like that!

I used the old 1/700 ship railings. That's the whole "secret". (No, I wouldn't be that crazy to actually make those gratings from tiny separate bars...)
Last photo shows one of those boxes where I keep things that might be useful for my models.

Today I also did the hatches.

Here's the new update.

I did the rails and few other details. Soon I'll start to work on the gun...
Today I also made the very important decision. I have to cancel my plan of making the gun's mechanisms movable. I've realized that it would not work in 1/50 scale. Theoretically, it's possible to make all those parts movable but the problem is that it's incredibly risky, especially if we consider the fact the M-1978 is a quite weird construction(other SPGs are much more straightforward). And as I don't want to destroy my months of work, I've decided to build Koksan in permanent default position, with locked gun.

I can imagine how tricky it would be to make gun movable from marching to firing position more than once.I think you are right.

Another North Korean vehicle...

Thanks.

Today there will be no WIP update. The next stage of Koksan project is the gun which is also the most difficult part. So I think it's pretty obvious that it will take me some time before I continue. I just have to plan the gun very carefully.
But... in the meantime, I'm also working on another 1/50 scale North Korean military vehicle. It's almost finished and I should be able to show it very, very soon.
Look out for a strange Korean name in "The Armory" this Friday and Saturday...

I did look into making some NK jets but gave up due to lack of credible source of info.Lots of speculations, too many to make even educated guess.
