Just one picture today. The front axle and steering installation.
Of note: I cut the mounting post down and heat swaged the end to trap the axle in place. Right before this I had to trim the mounting bracket sides just a touch to improve clearance and allow just a touch of axle pivot. The A-frame axle brace was a touch too short so I added a little bit to the center rear tang where it attaches to the bracket on the bottom of the driveline tunnel. While I did not attempt it, I think it would be a relatively straight forward task to make the steering position-able. greg

Next step is to dress the engine, right side first. I added wiring to the distributor.
Then I did the front of the engine. Radiator hoses were called out but no patterns provided. Note that the lower hose was a bear to install. The radiator mounts installed earlier had to be removed because they positioned the radiator too high (they were good for longitudinal position though. Next up was the left side engine components (intake and exhaust). Intake and exhaust tube patterns were provided and are accurate. Finally the hood was fashioned. pieces at the front do not really line up with the top hood well. The framing for the curved petal portion needed to be modified to allow fit over the radiator (this confirms the need to modify the radiator mounts). The rear panel also needed trimmed a little to improve hood fit. Now all I have to do is wheels but this won't happen soon due to business travel obligations. greg

All kinds of wheels
These built up a little differently than some. The front wheel ribs are all disks with edge pieces attached for the tread. Then there are the conical webs between them to represent the rest of the tire contour. The finished product looks a little slab sided but its been a while since I've seen any sort of ribbed tire like this on any tractor. The front axle spindle parts ended up with judicious amounts of superglue for strength. Rear tires were quite involved. each tire has a left and right half and they are directional so care must be taken to preserve this when installing the inner wheel rim. The tread blocks were akin to tank tracks. 34 per side That's all I have to say about them. Other wise no fit issues. But painting of tires necessary to cover some white parts and to provide uniform tire color. I did have to mount the rear tires with a little space between them and the main axle housing to properly clear the fenders. With that the build is complete. This is a good intermediate level model for someone who wants to graduate from easier projects or wants a little breather from a more difficult one. greg

Looks goods. Need to get one which I'm sure I can overcomplicate (see long suffering Ursus tractor thread).

Another great build, Greg. And another model made for the Paper Modelers at Army Heritage Days. If and when.

Turned out really nice this one... Those tyre treads look like they would've been fun to make...
