Mark II Female, design by Wayne McCullough.
Greetings, I hope everyone is fine wherever they are.
Another construction during this isolation is another great Wayne McCullough design, in this case the MarkII. Supposedly it would have to be the 1/48 version, but something during printing reduced the size and I have no idea what serious scale. The design is great and the result very nice, everything is going very well, very similar to the construction of the Mark I, with its differences. These days I am half owned by the tanks and I still have several lurking. Part of the process here.Hull. |

That's a model of #578 "The Perfect Lady". The Mark IIs were never supposed to be used in combat, only for training, but due to delays in production of the Mark IV they were sent to France. Some of them were fitted with sponsons from Mark Is since the Mark IIs weren't armoured. The Mark IIs were thrown into action in April 1917 at Arras, most of them ditched in the mud and were destroyed by shell fire. There are images of #578 since it was photographed as it moved up to Arras. The tank was badly damaged by friendly (British) artillery on 11 April 1917.
I put the rescaled 1:50 model of The Perfect Lady on Landships II a while ago. Dimensionally the Mark I, II and III were identical. Regards, Charlie Last edited by CharlieC; 04-14-2020 at 08:04 PM. |

Very nice build. Quite a lot of detail in a small package. Good photo documentation of your progress also.
