1/50 IDF Dodge WC-51 Mortar Carrier (Six-Day War 1967)
For two months I didn't really have time to build anything but somehow, I managed to complete a small project I've always wanted to do.
So, what's the subject? As you can see in the title it's an IDF Dodge WC-51 Mortar Carrier from Six-Day War 1967. A well-known vehicle but not really in this configuration and not really from this war. I love subjects like this. Model is a modified, repainted and resized R&P digital kit. Some parts had to be redesigned a bit, some had to be designed from zero and here I mostly think about the mortar, which is based on French 81mm Brandt Mle 27/31. At that time, Israel had a lot of equipment from France. Weapons, vehicles, aircraft, etc. So I thought the French mortar could be an interesting choice. And what's also important, it wasn't heavy and wasn't huge. Just perfect for WC-51. This Dodge is basically my vision of the vehicle that could've been used by IDF during the Six-Day War. It's not based on any particular truck. I just put together various historical facts and built a model out of it. The last photo is with the Egyptian BRDM-2 from the same conflict. 1/50 Egyptian BRDM-2 (Six-Day War 1967)

Thanks akula06, Sergio and Don.
Sergio, I agree with you that in paper models, the Six-Day War is usually portrayed through the aircraft. Ground warfare of this conflict is rarely depicted.

Idf wc-51
Greetings
I enjoyed seeing the model with the mortar In the IDF WC-51, called a weapon carrier And unfortunately to me that it is not known that he carried a mortar on him They were installed on M3 Half-Track and it is also not known that they were French mortar possibly USA or from the Soltam company. The only French tool was called in the IDF Napoleonic or in its official name a 65m"m mountain cannon model 1906 but it was not considered a mortar AVRAHAM

Thanks AVRAHAM and Johnny!
AVRAHAM, as I said, the model is just a my vision of the vehicle that could've been used by IDF during the Six-Day War and it's not based on any particular truck. Considering the fact that the IDF, in its whole history, had even a few Hotchkiss H39 tanks, I think the WWII French mortar, 81mm Brandt Mle 27/31, is an acceptable choice. Unusual, but acceptable and probable. Every army in this world had or has some examples of the equipment that is unusual for it.
