NSP: Non-Specific Pistol

Hello,
I'm experimenting with my first weapon, the NSP by Hoborginc.

I printed the template on 160 gsm paper; in the past I tried with 240 gsm, but its too much for the smallest details, so I aborted that building.
A note about the template: it's made of 6 PNG images that fit in letter format. Since I have A4 sheets, I rearranged the parts in each page so as not to overflow the smaller width, since I did not want to scale the model down (otherwise I should have scaled my hand down too for when I'll have to hold it once finished ).

I scored and cut all the parts, these are the first I built as now:
  • side faces
  • slide corners
  • slide rear walls
  • sights
I glued the hand grip strips on the side faces one by one, but it would have been better to cut them as a scallop to keep step and slant and then cut the "dorsal junction" away at the end. Perhaps I will redo them this way.

More have to come, stay tuned!

A little step forward:
  • slide exterior
  • slide interior
  • recoil spring housing
  • ambidextrous slide catch
  • ambidextrous safety
and the result as now.

That's a great model, thanks for sharing the link.

You're off to a great start. Look forward to seeing this project come together.

This time I built the two side grips with the mag release on the left side.

Some other details:
  • frame read and front faces
  • front end
  • trigger guard
  • trigger
  • frame center (front and read)
I got some difficulties especially with the front end, because it's a half cylinder with a "hollow width", so I had to form the external and internal side independently. To finally glue its end caps, I had to maintain the cylindrical shape with the hands and little rubber bands, otherwise it tended to stretch outwards.

These are the last parts, before putting all together:
  • the completed mag with its floor plate
  • barrel and top box already joined
  • ambidextrous safety, glued with the axle to just one end to allow the following building
  • hammer with its axle
  • the two cartridges
  • breech face
I made a mistake building the cartridges: I mounted the cylindrical body upside down, the thin black striped had to be on the bottom side. (I redo them, but I haven't taken a picture yet ).

I made a cut in the bottom of the breech to later insert a rubber band, as suggested by the designer in his time-lapse video instructions, as slide spring.

The project is coming along nicely. Good luck with the fix. Keep up the good work.

Here it is the completed pistol.

In the second picture I made a big mistake: I loaded the filled cartridge mag leaving the safety on "Fire" position!!! That's how accidents happen! Please, be careful folks.
