I've still been distracted on this project, concentrating and finishing the Sherman for the challenge between me and Kcstephens. I have done some work on it of late and have finished up through parts 89. This means the engine is installed and the transmission has been started.

Hey........Great to see you are still progressing with this beauty.. I must say she is looking mighty fine thus far. It must be very daunting at the amount of parts, but we are patient folk, and it matters not, how long it taketh. You are doing great Sir

The transmission has been finished and installed. The drawings for this assembly are not completely accurate and are drawn in odd proportions. To improve fit, part 98 should be installed onto part 93 before installing the fins (part 93a).

Installation of this assembly brings me up through part 104.

Looks can be deceiving. I was looking at my work and planning my next step when I realized I installed the transmission too soon. I had to cut it loose. The reason? The front axle differential needs to go under there and there is no way to access it with the tranny in place.

OK I'm stupid for not looking ahead and Modelik is stupid for not arranging the build sequence better. God I wish they'd proof read/build their stuff more before releasing it.

I hope that you are taking careful notes as you go along. You may be able to write a proper instruction manual for the less-painful assembly of this behemoth.:D

(Maybe Modelik was simply following the real Soviet assembly sequence:
1. Install tranny.
2. Drink vodka
3. Remove tranny
4. Repeat #2
5. Install axle
6. repeat #4 etc)
