Thanksgiving, a business trip and no desire to be on a laptop has delayed this post. Sorry. This will be my last intended post on this subject. Why? Because it is FINALLY DONE!
The end was just as challenging as the beginning. Still had a few parts issues and WTF moments but I beat this thing. It only took me almost 8 years, and I thought Kevin built slow.... Anyway, here are the final pictures to prove it: greg

Congratulations on an epic build, wow, 8 years! It was worth the time and effort, it looks fantastic.
I've been on an extended break from modeling due to simply not having the room to set up a decent modeling desk/area but that has changed with a recent move. To celebrate being able to build models again, I purchased this kit... before finding this thread and seeing you have finished it since I was last here. It was already a daunting kit but now, thanks to the issues you have mentioned in your build progress it's looking like an interesting time ahead. If I'd read this whole thread before I bought the kit I might have changed my mind but after seeing the end results I'm looking forward to the challenge. I'd have asked for tips or advice regarding fitting and/or instructions issues but it seems there would be too many to mention, so I'm sure your thread will prove to be a helpfull guide. Again, thank you for sharing your build and congratulations on an awesome looking model to show for it. |
