Smile Oob

Of course one's definition of OOB is the crux of this issue. Maybe what I'm trying to say in my own clumsy way is how paper pure does one wish to be?
As kits become more complex and/or hibrid, the definition of OOB becomes moot.
As long as the journey remains enjoyable, as long as the challenges remain sane and as long as you are happy with the end result, go for it!
Remember it's a hobby and it's supposed to be fun!
It's also enjoyable conversing with fellow travellers.
Ciao

I agree. If you need other materials for the model use it.

Here is what I use.

Canopies. Vacuformed clear plastic
Prop spinners. Vacuformed styrene or wood.
Landing gear struts. Wood and metal.
Wheels. Wood, plastic, card.
Pitot tubes and antennas. Wire rods.
Wing spars. Wood.
Missiles, bombs, drop tanks. Wood.

And the list goes on ..........

Why be pure paper? Who cares?

Enjoy. Keep calm and build.

Happy Halloween

Isaac

Even in designing, I'm constantly thinking about other materials to use. Spindly parts should be laminated with wood or wire, toothpicks uses for guns, string for rigging, clear plastic or packing tape for windows, etc...
