Iron Giant

Yeah... I know there was a thread opened on this subject waaaay back in '08, but after an exhaustive Google search, I've yet to find a decent 3D model of the big guy...

Right now, the closest thing to it is Webdude's robot from "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" (which is on my to build list...)

Jog any grey cells loose?

I vaguely remember it too, but I don't think it was ever finished. I was hoping to build that one too.

There's a Hako version available here ... Hako Clone- Iron Giant by CyberDrone on DeviantArt but I somehow doubt that's what you're looking for.

It's on the list. Maybe this year. Maybe next year. (It's a HUGE list). Should someone else design one before I do that will be fine as well but next time I see the dvd in the cutout bin at wally world I'm snagging one up.

Yeah, it's in those big $5 bins these days. I'll drag one or two of the kids there and bribe them to rapid rummage the thing with a bonus to the first one to snag one up. A shameless but 100% effective technique.

Talking Update

Roads are not worth traveling on today but I did ask #2 son if he was interested in the walmart deal. He said "Iron Giant?", opened a large zippered case they keep their movies in and handed me the dvd saying "So you're going to make some soft pretzels now?"

He's prepping the kitchen for me now.

This does not indicate an immediate start but I do have my reference material now.

Thanks Martin but my culinary skills are a better subject for other forums or my facebook page. Did I mention I design paper model kits occasionally?
