That's a great cutting tutorial.... It might be nice to add some notes on other tools that can be used for cutting... Sisors, Cutting Compass, Gilotine etc etc...

Best Regards,
Julian (Fozzy The Bear)

Well, I did consider including the Hole Punch into the discussion. It's an overlooked but important CMing tool!

I have a lot of cutting tools but I always keep going back to scissors, large for the straight cuts and small for the rest. I use a small curve one for curves and circles. the hobby knife I use it in more precise and small work.

Thanks Whulsey, great tutorial.
I always use a straight edge for straight cuts though. I don't trust myself otherwise, although I have tried it albeit with limited success. Outside curves I do with scissors, inside, freehand. In the main, I try to use a guide or tool to cut curves and will only use freehand when I have no other option.
Bernie.

I seem to remember that the best tool of scissor type for cutting curves is one with curved blades that curve in the opposite direction to the curve you are cutting. This sounds counter-intuative, but it works because you have to make bigger movements, and large movements are easier to control than small.
