You can easely use water to wash all the paper off, than sand it down so it's a smooth surface.
I use this shrink-sock, it shrinks when heated with a hair-dryer, I'm just concerned about the area the clear parts are, then cut it out, leaving a bit extra on all sides..

The whole fuselage is only 3 parts, I did a lot of dry-fitting and pre-shaping, but it turned out nice, everytning fits well...

Looking good Billy.............neat idea of the clear cockpit...........where do you get that shrink stuff from? How thick is it?

I got it from an internetstore called Conrad (here in Holland)http://www1.int.conrad.com/scripts/w...c=X&~cookies=1, normaly it's used to wrap electric wirering,or bateries, RC guys use it a lot, it comes in all kinds of colors and sizes, the one I used comes in a tube, about 1.5 inch wide
very thin,like 1/10 of a mm..

I put a little piece of black paper to cover the metallic inside of the cockpit, the model is to small to add more detail, its 1:72..
(It would easely stand an upscale to 1:50, even would make it easier to build)

Very nice model. It makes me want to print this one up and start it. The shrink tubing idea got me thinking so I checked my favorite source for stuff, American Science and Surplus and found this:

It looks like the kind of thing that might just work. And just today I found air-dry modeling clay at WalMart in their hobby section.

Potential sources for modeling folks on this side of the pond.

He Cecil,The stuff is called ''heat shrink tubing" the trick is that you put the mold into the tube, when heated it can only shrink around the mold,when you use loose sheets, you'll probably need to vacuum-form it..
The clay should do the job,takes a bit longer to dry..

It's finished.. some tips;
As Ash already suggested, it will look even better in 1;50
Put little weight in the nose ..
Here's your proof that you don't always need a zillion parts to get a nifty plane..
