Pmodel.net F86f Sabre (Blue Impulse)

Before I received their (Pmodel.net) T-2 CCV, I wanted to see how they went together. So I grabbed the free sample, which is the F86f Sabre, in the Blue Impulse aerobatics livery.

Rushing into it, i forgot to make tab strips for the first few fuselage rings (though i did remove the one that closes each ring).

That one looks funny though, like a shark mouth.

The inside.

I don't think the wings were supposed to droop so much... I solved that with a single florist wire running from wingtip to wingtip, even though i already closed them.

It's nice and straight now, so I am planning on inserting a piece of florist wire to the horizontal tail stabilizers as well.

Well, here's an update:

Had to forego the florist wire in the tail though.

Fuselage completed:

It isn't straight... Had a little trouble with the exhaust and the various folds below the tail.

Up next are the stand and the fuel tanks, but forgot to take pictures when i was constructing them, so my next post will show the completed model.

Here's the finished Blue Impulse Sabre.

I hope you liked the build-through!

Nice Sabre!!! That's a nice clean build too. Did the plane build up similar to an FG type plane? I didn't see any formers in your pics, so I'm guessing so.

Hello Legion,

your model give a nice impression of my favourit jet fighter - the one and only Sabre. I think it's a quick and easy printout to build the whole squadron?

With lovely greetings
the Wilfried

No formers at all, it's just the basic shape holding it together. Easy and quick build too. Now i just need a fresh set of ink cartridges and hack away at the T-2 CCV.

To answer your question, Wilfried, you'd need a gold version as well. And i'm not sure if this plane is even correctly numbered. There are more Blue Impulse (and man other versions) for sale at pmodel.net though.
