Buy yourself a spraycan with clear matt-varnish, it works for me everytime, it covers glue-stains and little mistakes, and protects it from UV, and the model looks twice as good!

@Leif; Thanks for the link, I just ordered me the Avro Arrow, nice guys there over at Spitfire Emporum!

Cheers, Billy

Bluenoser, Billy - you don't have to spray the matt varnish on. Water soluble matt varnish works just as fine brushed on. It might give you a little bit of heart-ache immediately after applying it, since large areas like the wings may show signs of sagging. But do not worry - letting it dry overnight (at its longest) will take away all the sagging, and really spruce the whole model up, better than original.

But don't spray/brush on the transparent parts (of course; just to avoid some beginner reading this making a big mistake).

What Billy says is really true - the varnish will be the great equalizer between paper, paint and glue shines. They will all even out to one and the same shine, thereby sort of erasing many small but annoying mistakes.

Good luck if you decide to try it out! - Leif

PS. Billy, I'm wondering whether the Avro Arrow isn't designed by "Silverwing" (Bill)? Perhaps you can confirm when the model has arrived.

Billy, Leif, thanks. I think that will do the trick. I will get some and apply it.

I brushed on Future floor wax on the canopy, this is also a great way to hide gluing defects on the clear parts.

Leif is right, if you brush it on,it's more acurate, and probably much cheaper ( a good quality varnish spraycan costs here about 10€/15$) than spraying, I always have to cover the transparent parts...
Cheers, Billy

Thumbs up

Absolutely beautiful. Too bad there are not more models in Canadian livery. Thanks for sharing your excellent build of this one with us.
