P-8 Poseidon is the military version of the 737-800. It's being developed for the U.S. Navy for anti-submarine and intelligence work.

Nice work on this model, Jack.

there's plenty of info on it. it's actually a hybrid, with a fuselage based on the 800 and wings based on the 900, I believe. It will have next to nothing in common with any commercial 37 derivitative except the maker and the shape. It won't even have much in common with the Navy's C-40's, which are based near my home at NAS Jacksonville. NAS Jax is slated to receive Poseidons, and I know a few people in the ASW communityt who are working on the program.

Correct. The P-8A Poseidon is based on the 737-800 fuselage and modified -900 wings with raked wingtips. The fuselage is longer than the -800 to accommodate extra fuel tanks and weapons bay. Don't let the association with the 737 fool you. It may ressemble a 737 on the outside but this is a vastly different aircraft. I can tell you from personal experience the Navy has themselves one heck of a replacement for their well repected aging fleet of P-3 Orions. I'd hate to be in a submerged tin can with one of these babies flying overhead!

I'd hate to be on any tin can if it was submerged!

(A "tin can" is a destroyer, in navy parlance :D)

My bad. Sorry, I don't work for the Navy and am not up to speed on their lingo. I just make their weapons.

O.K. after I test built for this bird, The new technique IRSS (Internal reenforcement system structure was working well with the cockpit curve. The wing need to be changed and redesign while the navy marking and usa national emblem has to remove forward. Overall is O.K.

I posted some update for this bird.

Nice work on this model, Jack.
I have to thank you for your kind comment and the data, Ashrunner. Actually, sometimes I am lazy for searching through the net due to over consumption of the data.

As I told your people here that there are huge amount of work that need to be correct before submission of my works to the publication, therefore, this Poseidon also be corrected. :D
