I haven't the foggiest idea what that means, but I'll take it as a compliment.
. . . I think. :p

All I can say is that the model is just superb! Jim Nunn

What Dan said. Superb craftsmanship and a beautiful model.
Incidentally, Glen and David -- yesterday, I was with a group of birders from the Cape May Bird Observatory when a parasitic jaeger flew in and landed on the beach. Definitely not an everyday occurrence at Cape May, New Jersey! Don |

Great Don! That's a good bird off the coast here, too! I've only seen them harrassing gulls in the air, not on the beach, ever. Your kingfishers are nice, too, love the sound on a quiet day at the lake. We have resident ones here and they land about in conspicuous places where they can fish. The young ones chase the parents about still, but are fishing for themselves. Osprey are still here, but not for long. The kingfishers are hardy and still hang around when the lake is frozen!
ps; Kim saw a pileated at our house today, and it was quite tame so nice views, of course I'm at work...

You birder guys are cracking me up. I'm almost tempted to take that up as yet another hobby - but would that lead to wooden bird carving and even less time for real job type work?
Yep, and now that I know what the acronym means, the merlin is in that category.

Does reading and posting on internet forums count as a hobby? If so, I think that's my biggest one - since I can partake occassionally while working...

I found a place to put the pictures of the 1/33 Merlin 45 model from Alin, free in the downloads put there by Leif Ohlssen, an old thread, really old, ha
I think my early build went into a Spitfire model, so this is the only Merlin engine I have, not very big so would be very cool to enlarge as was done above by Sakrison in the thread also. Does look better in person as is very small model...made a simple engine stand as one might use for display or working on the real thing, fun.
