Well, the wife and I took a random day off work to get some stuff done around the house, and I took the opportunity to finally update some pictures of this build. I'm not happy about the final joint in the fuselage - the white stripe flows fairly well - but there's definitely some gap in the joint. Looking back, I think I'd have made the back 2 sections off of the plane, then fit everything onto the cockpit frame - I think I'd have been able to smooth everything up better. *Note - I'm sure this issue is the fault of the builder and nothing to do with the design.

Looking fine, Dan. During the multiple test builds I encountered the same thing you are experiencing...Will's designs are so accurate and tight that any errors have to go on the shoulders of the builder. Fortunately the fit is so ggod on his birds that it usually isn't a problem (and we have unlimited reprints for the rare occasion when we slip up...)

Here's some update pictures from this weekend. The wing section is a little tricky - there's no instruction diagram so I just jumped in and started cutting and gluing. It looks ok so far, I haven't done a lot of fitting it to the plane yet but looks like it should fit right.
I also colored the inside of the nose sections - which didn't end up being necessary - and bled through to the white stripe. I'm thinking that I'll probably blacken in the whole strip and paint the stripe back in to eliminate the bleed and make sure it matches 100%.
Also I glued the circle in place for the inside of the nose section (part F16) before fitting it. It ended up being too big for me, so I had to trim and squeeze it to fit

It looks like you put in a good weekend's worth of work on this beauty, Dan!

And it appears that there are just enough challenges to make it interesting.

It looks great so far.

Thanks Don.
I wish I could get the camera to focus better. I think the matte black that my printer spit out is too dull to allow the auto-focus to see it well. If only I knew how to use my camera I'm sure I could overcome that - but no luck there.

Wow - just about 3 months with no updates. I did glue the one wing section on and start cutting on the bits for the same on the other side, but no real major progress during that time. I have been transplanted to a permanant workspace rather than the dining room table - and got my workspace ready to start working yesterday. Hopefully in the coming weeks I'll have some updates on both my current builds

sound good Dan! Nice to have workspace, I make such a mess that I have to allocate time for restoration of the room almost daily....my wife is ok with is most times, and doesnt vacuum under my desk(kindly reference Lil)or move my stuff even when by all outward appearances it would be (and often is) garbage.
