'Mr. Hyde' Super Corsair - Gremir Models - 1/33

I had offered to beta this model, but I never caught up on the Beaufort to allow me the chance, and thanks to Ron's beta, the kit was released. So - even better, I picked up the model last weekend and jumped into a build.
I plan on building it with the gear up, to make it a bit easier / quicker to come together. I'm still plugging away on the Halinski Mustang III - but I'm painting the edges of every part, which is slow. I'll be able to edge color mostly with markers on this one so it should come together more quickly.

The kit comes in digital format, of course. This is my first time using Gremir's viewer, and except for a glitch with my wife's computer not registering the printers that were installed, it worked out well. (She has some network deal installed from her work to allow her to dial in, we've had some printer issues since it was installed - so I think that's what 'masked' the printers from the data viewer).
The model comes on 12 pages with diagrams mixed in with parts. There are 2 pages of written instructions and the cover page. One note on the layout, it could easily be set up to remove one page if you are making the model gear up (part F16 is the only part on page 7 I'll end up using) - and probably could be set up to print on 10 pages w/o gear. Not a big deal - just my paper / ink frugalness weighing in.

Pages 1 and 2 recommend printing on regular copy paper and laminating to 1/32" posterboard. I printed everything on 65# cover stock, and laminated pages 1 and 2 to a total of 4 pieces. With glue thickness, this should give pretty much exactly the thickness recommended.

Ok - picture number one to prove I'm cutting and gluing pieces

Oh - and I sure hope this one ends up looking like a Corsair!

Sorry about the wasted paper but in order to keep things as simple as possible I used the same 12 page format as my other Super Corsair models and since this is a simpler model there was a lot of unused space on some pages. Glad to see you doing this and looking forward to seeing completed build pics!

After your Beaufort I'm sure you have the modeling skills necessary to complete this, thanks to Ron I have very little doubt of the fit so it ought to be a piece of cake for you.

Well, no pic's of the small progress I've made, sorry. I've been getting ready to go on my annual golf trip with the father-in-law to South Carolina, so my model stuff has been moved off the kitchen table and stored. I 'think' I'll have internet there to keep up with the cool builds around here, we'll see. So far this model is going together nicely. I've got the foot pedals in, seat ready to go (I copied Ron's method of laminating the cushion pieces instead of building the 'boxes') and have the front wrap section glued in place. Just have to finish up the side pieces and wrap the back cockpit lining, then we'll be ready to start doing the bits that make it look like an airplane.
